In April, the Brigade Girls were excited to return to Whiteman for an autograph session and photo shoot with the AH64A Apache Helicopter Attack Battalion. The entire Brigade organization recognizes and appreciates the important contributions of all of our armed forces to the security and well being of our country. The Brigade Girls plan to visit other military installations during 2006 and 2007. |

Tour of Whiteman AFB and B2 Stealth Bomber

In March, four members of the Brigade Girls visited Whiteman Air Force Base. Whiteman is located near Warrensburg, Missouri about 55 miles east of Kansas City. The base is home to the twenty-one B2 Spirit Bombers and support personnel of the 509th Bomb Wing. Whiteman also houses the 442nd A-10 (Warthog) Fighter Wing and the Missouri National Guard’s 1-135th AH64A Apache Helicopter Attack Battalion. The Brigade Girls were given a tour of the base, signed autographs and visited with Whiteman’s service men and women. One of the highlights of the day was an up close and personal viewing of a B2 Bomber, the Brigade team mascot!! The Girls were also privileged to talk with a female B2 pilot, one of only four in the Air Force. It was truly an educational and inspiring day! |
